The Forgotten Call
Before there were nursing homes and government programs, there were Christians — ordinary believers who cared for the aged, the widow, and the weak. Churches carried this sacred responsibility as an act of worship, not policy.
But over time, families scattered, government and institutions stepped in, and the Church stepped back. Today, over 1.3 million people live in nursing homes — and nearly half receive no regular visitors. The forgotten sit in isolation, disconnected and alone.
As a society, we have normalized what God never intended.
There have always been a faithful few — believers who felt the call and answered it. We honor them deeply. But as His Body, as His Bride, it is time to be the Church again. It is time to carry His love and His Spirit back into these forgotten places — and join them.
God has not forgotten the people in these homes. And neither should we.
